KONDALILLA — A TERRARIUM THAT MAKES ITS OWN RAIN
Named for Kondalilla Falls in the Blackall Range — "place of rushing waters."
A closed rainforest floor under a glass dome that runs its own weather.
Moisture rises off the planting, condenses on the underside of the dome, gathers at the drip point and falls back onto the moss below. Vents in the side wall keep the air moving so it breathes instead of stagnating. The entire water cycle, happening in something the size of a coffee tin, on your desk.
Built one at a time in Brisbane — living moss carpet, natural hardscape, fittonia and small ferns, planted onto a proper drainage, charcoal and substrate profile so it holds together for years rather than months.
WHAT YOU GET
- A fully planted, established Kondalilla terrarium in the Large size
- Living plants, natural stone and aged branch — no plastic props, no dyed moss
- Vented dome lid with integrated drip point
- Printed care card
- Ready to place. Nothing to assemble
CARE
- Bright, indirect light. Never direct sun — the glass magnifies it and cooks the plants
- The water cycle does most of the work. Top up with spray of rain or distilled water roughly every 1-2 months, or when the dome stops beading
- Trim anything that grows into the glass
